Malachite - What a beautiful stone, and powerful too

Malachite is one of my favorite stones to work. It's beautiful, as you work it, by shaping it, sanding and polishing it proves that, in this stone, the beauty is not only skin deep.

For those interested in the therapeutic properties of this high energy stone:  Study pulsing electromagnetic energy. (High   copper content) Malachite and azurite are the same chemical, practically, Copper Carbonate. The only difference is the ordering of the elements in the molecule. On brow: Stimulates physical and
psychic vision, concentration. For heart and solar plexus centers: Stomach, liver, kidney stones, lungs, immune system, radiation, MS, circulation. Powerful healer with azurite or chrysocolla for healing: Releases and draws out pain, inflammation, depression, anger; heals blocks. Protects well by powerfully cleaning the auric field, rapidly absorbing undesirable energies, including: computer, TV, and other radiation, etc. Place in the 4 corners of a room to cleanse carpet toxins/gases. Often variegated and is one of the basic ores of Copper. Should be used with extreme care because it can amplify negative qualities. Caution must always be used when wearing it as jewelry. However, Malachite also magnifies the positive, and so it is useful if your mood is definitely on the upswing. It should not be used in healing without careful consideration of who is doing the healing. It is useful for relaxation and neurological disorders as well as tissue regeneration. It is said to awaken healing qualities and useful in fighting mental illnesses. Said to stimulate the optic nerve, help the pancreas, spleen, parathyroid, and help dyslexia. People living near nuclear power plants should keep pieces of Malachite in their homes, since Malachite may expel plutonium. A warning: Malachite in raw form has dust particles that are highly toxic and their ingestion should be avoided.

Men Need Jewelry Too!

I rarely make jewelry for men but after making a bracelet for my husband of nothing by this beautiful gray Hawk Eye stone, I had to make more with it. The cut of the beads is smooth and comfortable. They lay so nicely around the wrist. When I found the Blue Hawk Eye focal bead, I had get it to go with the gray ones. The result is a masculine, sleek, bracelet that would look handsome with any attire.

Team eJAG (Etsy Jewelry Artists Guild)

If you are a member of Etsy then you will know more about what Im talking about then others.

Team eJAG (Etsy Jewelry Artists Guild) is made up of a bunch of talented jewelry artists that sell on Etsy.  eJAG is also a great networking team to help members learn new ways to promote there jewelry on and off of Etsy.

We have a weekly chat on Wednesday nights at 9pm central time.  It is a great way for members to get to know each other and also have a chance to learn new things from different members that might help them sell in there shop.

We also have team challenges seasonally.  The Challenges are contests where the contestants have to create a new piece of jewelry according to theme of the challenge.  They are also a great chance to show off our creativity and have fun at the same time.  The winner also gets featured on the teams blog.  http://www.etsyjewelryartistguild.blogspot.com/

We are also in the process of raising money for Saint Jude Children's Hospital.  Hopefully by doing this we can make a difference in a child's life.

Most of all eJAG is a great place to meet other people and also have a lot of fun.

If you are interested in joining Team eJAG please check out our team profile.

Creative Reuse

I'm published!! My work is included in the recent publication of "1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse" by Garth Johnson.

The book is being sold at Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. I submitted many pieces for their consideration and four items were chosen. The mermaid bracelet, was five dominoes that I inked and made into a bracelet for a special friend of mine. A one-of-a-kind piece and a work of love for sure.

The author chose three other items, all typewriter key creations...

If you'd like your own piece of "Creative Reuse", I've been listing new pieces these last few weeks, including this fun bracelet for the travel enthusiast...

Bon Voyage

Chrysocolla

This is one of the most beautiful stones I have ever had the pleasure of cutting and polishing.  Pure heaven.

For those interested in the therapeutic properties of chrysocolla:
Solid Lt. blue/blue-green. Gentle, soothing, friendly. Excellent for Heart Chakra; flushes and heals heart blocks (loss, hurt, guilt, fear...) for allowingness, flexibility, self-forgiveness, peace of heart, patience. Keeps one in light, love, and healing daily. On Throat, expressing feelings, verbal and artistic creativity, thyroid. Also, heart bloodsugar, and emotional balance. High conductivity from copper draws out pain, heat (fevers, inflammations, arthritis...), Excellent therapeutic assistance for healing loss, incest, other traumas. Cleanses auric field. Dreams and Earth healing.

A stone found in shades of blue and/or green. Mined in Mexico, Zaire, Chile, USSR and US. Resembles Turquoise and its properties are similar to it. Benefits arthritis and other bone diseases as well as the organs of the digestive tract, and ulcers become less problematic. Relieves hypertension and stressful conditions due to fear or guilt. Helps one feel more comfortable speaking the truth. Help develop personal confidence. Historically used by musicians, perhaps because of its reputation for having healing properties for throat and lungs.

I hope you enjoy these little tidbits on information on different rocks.  Please let us know what you think.

Thank you,
JoAnne
